Spinach and chickpea curry

Overview

Chana saag is a really lovely and sweet slow-cooker curry that is simple to make.

Ingredients

Slow cook

  • 2 cans chickpeas

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 1 onion

  • 2 tbsp curry powder

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • ¼ tsp chili flakes

  • 3 tbsp tomato puree

  • 1 tin coconut milk

  • ½ tsp sea salt

To finish

  • 240g baby spinach (shredded)

  • 2 tbsp mango chutney

  • 1 tsp garam masala

Method

  1. Add the slow cooker ingredients and cook on high for 4 hours.

  2. Add the remaining ingredients at the end, shortly before serving and mix through - the heat will wilt the spinach.
